Since May 3rd, when we first stepped into our new studio space, so much has happened. What started as a blank canvas has quickly become a home for creativity, community, and a whole lot of memories. From shipping our first Bar Cart Club orders from the new HQ (before we even officially moved in!) to hosting our first stitch night, this space has already seen some incredible milestones.
Our First Bar Cart Shipment
Even before we fully settled in, the studio was already getting put to good use! Our first official order of business was shipping Bar Cart Club orders. We may not have had furniture yet, but we had canvases, a little bit of fiber, and a whole lot of excitement!
Fully Transitioning to the New Studio
Summer kept us on our toes with travel and launches, but by August, we were officially running MJD from our new space full-time. It was a slow shift, but looking back, it's wild to think about how much has changed in just a few months.
Designing the Canvas Wall
One of my favorite projects was creating the canvas wall, and I have to give a huge shoutout to Avery for leading the charge! She carefully laid out each canvas on the floor to get the perfect arrangement before we made it official on the wall. It's now one of my favorite corners in the studio and a true reflection of the heart of MJD.
Surviving Our First Hurricane Season
Florida living means bracing for hurricane season, and this year, we made it through our first one in the new space. While we were lucky that the storm passed without major damage, it was a reminder of how much has already happened in such a short time here.
Hosting Our First Stitch Night
In November, we welcomed local stitchers into the studio for our very first stitch night. It was so special to see people stitching together in the space, and I can't wait to host more. If you're in St. Pete, let us know so we can tell when the next stitch nights will be!
First Black Friday, Cyber Monday, & Studio Sale
Though our sales were all online, the studio played a huge role in keeping things running smoothly. This year, we expanded our team and welcomed Annie, who jumped right in to help us get through the holiday rush. Captain, of course, was our enthusiastic (and slightly distracted) supervisor. It was a true team effort, and I'm so grateful for the extra hands during the busiest season of the year!
Our First In-Studio Sale
One of my favorite moments happened last month - our first-ever sale! We celebrated by hanging a dollar on the wall to mark the occasion. While we don't have regular retail hours, if you're ever in St. Pete, and want to stop by, send us an email!
