September’s Thread: Lumiere #821 Cherry Cobbler
We love Lumiere Color #821 Cherry Cobbler when a canvas needs a little extra shimmer! It’s a soft metallic thread that adds just the right amount of sparkle without feeling too shiny. There’s no need to separate it into plies—just use as many strands as you need for coverage.
Our Recommended Stitch + Tips:
- For smoother stitching and to help prevent minor fraying, try running the thread through a little beeswax before stitching

- This stitch works well for backgrounds, architecture, clothing, fabric, flooring, roofing, sky, snow, and wall detailing
What is Chevrons with Accents?
The Chevron Stitch works best with two complementary threads, creating a cohesive look while adding subtle dimension and texture.
- Start with the Chevron Stitch. Work the first row of diagonal stitches in one direction, following the chevron pattern across the area.
- Complete the chevron. Work the second set of diagonal stitches in the opposite direction to create the repeating “V” shape.
- Keep your spacing consistent. Follow the same stitch count throughout so each chevron stays even and aligned.
- Add the accents. Using your accent thread, place the accent stitches in the open spaces between the chevrons, following the pattern.
- Repeat across the area. Continue alternating the chevron pattern and accents, keeping your tension even for a clean, consistent finish.
