From Aperitivo to Adventure
Italy has always been a dream destination for me, and this summer, I finally got the chance to explore its stunning landscapes and vibrant culture. Our itinerary took us from the serene waters of Lake Como to the majestic peaks of the Dolomites, and finally to the bustling city of Milan. Here's a recap of our adventures!
LAKE COMO: A DREAMY ESCAPE
Tremezzo: A Slice of Heaven
We kicked off our Italian adventure in the charming town of Tremezzo. Arriving late to our adorable Airbnb, we dove straight into the local culture with a classic Italian aperitivo and a delightful dinner.
Boat Day
The next day was pure magic. We rented a boat, stocked up on picnic supplies, and embarked on our own boat tour around Lake Como. The views were breathtaking, and our picnic on the water was a highlight. Dinner at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo capped off a perfect day.
Day Club
On our last day in Lake Como, we hopped on a ferry and headed to a lively day club across the lake. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and fun before our next adventure.
THE DOLOMITES: NATURE'S MASTERPIECE
Ortisei: Mountain Bliss
Next, we drove to the Dolomites, making a picturesque pit stop at Lake Garda for a leisurely walk and lunch. We arrived late at a mountain spa hotel in Ortisei, ready for some alpine tranquility.
Hiking and Spa Day
We spent our second day hiking the stunning Seceda mountain. The views from the top were absolutely worth the effort, and having lunch up there was a dream. We spent the afternoon unwinding in the spa facilities at our hotel.
MILAN: A CITY OF WONDERS
City of Life: Milan in a Day
With just one day and night in Milan, we made the most of it. We stayed in the heart of the city, taking in the awe-inspiring Duomo and exploring the elegant Galleria. Our day ended with a delightful dinner in a charming neighborhood on a canal, a perfect conclusion to our trip.
FAVORITE MOMENTS
Reflecting on the trip, a few highlights stand out:
- Aperitivo Hour: I fell in love with the Italian tradition of aperitivo. Hopping from one little restaurant to another, sipping on rinks in the early afternoon, was an absolute delight.
- Picnic on Lake Como: There's nothing quite like having a picnic on a boat, surrounded by the stunning scenery of Lake Como.
- Gelato and Pasta: Of course, indulging in Italy's famous gelato and pasta was a treat for the taste buds.
This whirlwind Italian adventure was everything I hoped for and more. From the serene lakes to the majestic mountains and the vibrant city life, Italy has a piece of my heart!
Ciao, Morgan
