Year in Review + MJD Holiday Canvases!
Our final launch of 2023 is here! As we head into the holidays, I hope each of you carves out some time to relax and enjoy time celebrating the season- whatever that might mean for you. For me, it’s going to be focused on recharging and reflecting on what a wonderful whirlwind 2023 has been- it was truly a year for the books.
I will always remember this as the year of travel and being able to meet SO many stitchers.
Since I work for myself, it can be an isolating job, but being able to travel to amazing needlepoint stores and host events from Charleston, New York City, Nantucket, Chicago, and Houston, and meet all of you kept my heart so full!
Here’s a quick highlight reel from my year….!
- January: Launching our Resort Collection while going through a breakup - the breakup belt curse is real lol!
- February: Adding a new bar cart, the Wedding Bar Cart, to our collection with LGBT+ SKUs
- March: Attending our first Spring Market in Atlanta
- April: Visiting Tanque Verde Ranch and gathering inspiration for our Western Launch
- May: Hosting our first ever Retreat with Penny Linn Designs in Charleston!
- June: Partnering with West Village Knit and Needle + Penny Linn Designs for an epic party (so epic, WVKN closed the next day).
- July: Visiting France for the first time and traveling back to Chicago for our second collaboration with Third Coast Stitches.
- August: Caroline joined the MJD Team & I booked a last minute trip to Nantucket to join a house full of stitchers!
- September: Headed back up to Chicago to launch Emily NDLPT Stitches’ Line - what an amazing night!
- October: Our last bar cart of the year, the Texas Bar Cart, launched in Houston with Courtly Canvas!
- November: We worked weeks to make this the most successful BFCM of MJD’s history - including our Stitch Along launch with Greystone.
Every time I interact with you all on social media, meet one of you in person, and see you stitch my canvases, my heart grows. I truly am living my *dream* because of you all - and I cannot thank you enough for that. Here’s to 2023 and I cannot wait for you all to see what big plans we have in store for 2024!
Whatever your traditions might look like, I hope this new line sparks joy and that a few of you will join me in closing out the year with a little seasonal stitching!
Our holiday collection launches Wednesday, December 13 at 7:00pm EST and includes 3 new canvases!
Please Note: We can't guarantee that these items will arrive by Christmas but we will do our best to get them in the hands of mail carriers by/on Friday if they are ordered on Wednesday, December 13th. We have seen a delay in shipping speed and unfortunately once it's in the hands of the mail carriers there isn't anything we can do, but we promise to work as fast as possible to get your order in the mail. Window Shopping, along with the rest of this series, is inspired by New York City during the holidays. I love seeing the festive displays in shop windows; it’s nostalgic and reminds me of the magic of the holiday season while finding the perfect gifts for the people you love.
Window Shopping is approximately 4” round on 18 mesh.
It will be available as a canvas for $65 or as a kit for $129. The kit will include cards of Essentials, Silk Lame Braid, Petite Very Velvet, and Vineyard Silk.
Christmas Cab is a playful design that’s great for beginners! I love the old-school black and white checker detail, and still get a thrill out of hailing a taxi when I visit the City (not something you get to do everyday in St. Pete, Florida!).
Christmas Cab is approximately 4.8” wide by 2.3” tall on 13 mesh.
It will be available as a canvas for $60.
Gingerbread Forest by Emily NDLPT Stitches, says Emily “this canvas makes me feel like I’m in a wonderland up in the North Pole and Santa and his elves are just a short walk away!”
Gingerbread Forest is approximately 4” round on 18 mesh.
It will be available as a canvas for $65 (stitch guide coming soon!) or a kit for $127. The kit will include Essentials and Regular + Petite Silk Lame Braid.
