Soft Sheen, Bold Stitches

One of my favorite parts of needlepoint is experimenting with new fibers. Every thread has its own personality, adding something unique to each canvas!

This month, I'm excited to introduce you to Fyre Werks Soft Sheen in the color FT25 - "Light Multi." This fiber is a stunning metallic ribbon with a soft luster, perfect for adding a bit of glitz to your canvas. It's a subtle sparkle - more of a delicate glint than a bright shine - which makes it versatile for different styles and designs!

  

For those of you unfamiliar with Fyre Werks, the Soft Sheen variation is similar but with less intense shine. It's all about creating that beautiful shimmer effect without overwhelming your canvas. This fiber can make any piece feel a little more magical. I love how it brought my Shimmering Scallop Shell canvas to life!

One thing to keep in mind when working with Fyre Werks Soft Sheen is to avoid using overly long pieces. Because it's a ribbon, keeping your lengths shorter will help maintain its shape and reduce fraying. Some stitchers recommend using a laying tool to keep the ribbon lying flat and neat as you stitch, which can be helpful for achieving a smooth finish.
